This can vary greatly depending on the person and the problem, although on average people tend to access 12-20 sessions of therapy. Your therapist will be able to give you a more accurate assessment of how many sessions you may need once you have complete your initial assessment with them.
When you have completed your assessment with your therapist, you will also agree to some therapy goals and complete some questionnaires which you and your therapist will typically review every 6 sessions to ensure you are making good progress in therapy and moving towards achieving your goals. This can allow for a more accurate idea of how many sessions you may need as treatment progresses.
