Panic attacks are a sudden and extreme experience of Anxiety Symptoms, typically lasting a few minutes at most. Panic attacks can be triggered by a specific situation or can be entirely random. Often people who experience panic attacks can fear that they are going to die or have a heart attack due to the intensity of the symptoms. Persistent fear of having a panic attack, leading to avoidance of certain situations or events is called Panic Disorder.
